The origin of the altar in this chapel in at present unknown.
The statue of St. Francis is carved in wood and from this position seems to be looking at the large crucifix on the west wall of Church, reminiscent of St. Francis’ hearing our Lord on the Cross speak to him in 1206 with the instruction to “rebuild my Church”.
The Holy Oils are kept in this Chapel.
